Mobile Apps for iPad Printing
The iPad wasn’t originally designed to be a business tool, but that hasn’t stopped small businesses from putting the mobile device to work — with the help of mobile apps designed to overcome the iPad’s shortcomings. Case in point, the iPad doesn’t support printing. We take a look at four mobile apps that let you work around the issue and print from your iPad: Cortado Workplace, Print Magic HD, MobileToolz and PrintCentral . They all sell for less than $10. They’re not perfect, but they should be good enough to tide you over until Apple releases iOS 4.2, which Apple says will support printing from the iPad. When the iPad first launched, some wag at a consulting firm posted a blog item about how to get around the device’s apparent inability to print. It featured a photo of an iPad lying face down on a fax machine. Har har.
Others commentators wondered why you would want to print from a device intended primarily for listening to music, watching YouTube videos and looking at digital images.
