Xactly SimplyComp Streamlines SMB Sales Compensation

May 23, 2017

A career in sales is tough enough without having to worry if your commissions are being accurately recorded, let alone paid out. Xactly, a San Jose, Calif.-based incentive compensation and sales performance technology company, is removing all the uncertainty for small business sales teams with its new SimplyComp offering.

Xactly has been providing its sales compensation solutions to larger sales organizations, but the SimplyComp SaaS (software-as-a-service) platform represents the “Holy Grail” of addressing the small and midsized business (SMB) end of the market “with a zero-footprint implementation,” Christopher Cabrera, CEO and co-founder of Xactly told Small Business Computing. Now, sales teams with less than 25 staffers can enjoy many of the automated compensation tracking features that some of the company’s larger customers like American Express Travel and Salesforce have come to rely upon.

“This offering fills a gap for companies with less than 25 reps by giving them an affordable and easy-to-use solution to quickly grow their sales teams,” wrote Cabrera in a blog post. “Our team has created spreadsheet-like familiarity and DIY functionality, to easily empower these businesses. Now they can increase sales motivation with compensation best practices derived from analyses of tens of thousands of incentive plans.”

The cloud-based solution offers customizable compensation rule templates that can be modified within minutes. In fact, from the moment a customer signs up for Xactly SimplyComp, it can take as little as five or six minutes to set up an employee with a new compensation plan, said Cabrera. “We cracked the code on making this very simple,” he said.

That simplicity is reflected in the SimplyComp user-friendly interface. The arcane forms and fields of typical sales management software are gone, replaced with an eye-pleasing and informative controls that provide at-a-glance transparency into incentive compensation plans. A spreadsheet-like interface enables plan administrators to jump onboard quickly.

“Our early customers tell us that SimplyComp is effortless to get started – most are up and running in just minutes – and the built-in rule templates make it easy to set up plans,” blogged Cabrera. They report that the UI feels like they’re working on a common spreadsheet but with all the power and advantages of a fully automated, cloud-based system.

This approach extends to salespeople as well, according to Cabrera. In fact, his company’s platform often “eliminates shadow accounting,” or the practice of each employee keeping track of their sales performance and commissions, apart from their companies’ systems of record, to ensure that they are compensated fairly.

With Xactly SimplyComp, all doubts are erased, Cabrera assured. Not only is everyone on the same page, the solution accurately tracks every penny owed to sales reps. This, in turn, enables sales professions to spend more time cultivating relationships and bringing in revenue instead of worrying that their commissions are being accounted for.

Rather than consult their own spreadsheets when commission checks are deposited, salespeople can review their own performance on SimplyComp themselves.

Xactly SimplyComp is available now. Prices start at $35 per month per user for an annual subscription or and $45 per month per user on a month-to-month basis. A 30-day free trial is available.
