Caspio Says Its Got Your Databases Covered

Caspio, a company that specializes in on-demand databases, today released a major upgrade of its Bridge Online service, which lets small businesses create customized, searchable databases for their Web sites with no downloads, site configuration or programming.

“If you want to publish a product database or membership database, it’s easily done because you just import the data from any source and then publish it to your site for your customers,” said Frank Zamani, president of the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company, which has been creating Web applications for database-driven forms and reports since 2001.

Caspio Bridge Online 4.0 is browser-based, so there is no software to load, no coding required, and it can be accessed from any computer with Internet access. You log on to the Caspio site, import your data, say from an Excel file, customize it with design templates, choose what search parameters you want and within minutes it shows up as a searchable database at your Web site.

The release of Caspio Bridge 4.0 includes following enhancements:

• One-click Web application localization to any language. Several language packages are included in every account, and you can add your own language with ease.
  
• New wizard for quickly creating styles to control the look and feel of Web applications. Several professionally designed CSS-compliant styles are included in every account.
• Ability to create forms for mobile devices without programming.
• Caspio Bridge Plug-in for Microsoft Office brings online data securely to a client’s desktop and keeps it refreshed automatically.

The product also lets you create customizable automatic e-mails that business owners can use for confirmation messages or internal alerts.

Other features let you control access to your applications while automating user registration, log-ins, profile management and recovery of lost passwords. You can also set up your applications with security levels that limit each person to view or edit only those records authorized for them.

Standard Caspio Bridge Online packages start at $39.95 per month. You can sign up for a 14-day free trial at the Caspio site. There are no per-user fees, as pricing is based on the number of applications, total storage and data transfer.
