Boost Small Business Productivity with Evernote Business

Evernote last month announced Evernote Business, a product that, according to the company, is specifically designed for small businesses. For the uninitiated, Evernote is a highly-popular cloud-based service designed for storing and organizing digital information online. Images, audio clips and textual data captured in Evernote are fully searchable, and you can access them from any Internet-connected computer, smartphone or tablet.

Priced at $10 per person per month, Evernote Business will come with a number of business-centric features. I summarize the major features below, and discuss why small businesses will find them compelling. You can check out the product’s full feature list on the Evernote website.

Centralized Management

The most notable feature in Evernote Business is a centralized Admin Console where you can administer users as well as business data. And in situations where you require real-life assistance, Evernote assigns a dedicated Customer Success Manager to all business customers. You can actually speak to a human being. On an administrative level, companies will also be able to pay for the entire organization using a single credit card.

Sharing and Collaboration

Evernote Business will allow employees to create, design and manage Evernote Business notebooks. This allows employees to collaborate by publishing notebooks in the business directory, essentially creating a repository of searchable data for other employees. Even better, employees retain control over the content that they create and store in a notebook.

Consistent User Experience

Finally, from a user experience perspective, you won’t find any differences between Evernote Business and the standard Evernote. This means that people who already have an active Evernote account will not have their current notebooks or experience disrupted. And what’s more, the company says that people can upgrade an existing account by simply entering their business email address.
