Is Star Trek the Future of Small Business Tech?

Watching any of the original Star Trek gang converse with the computer aboard the Starship Enterprise was pretty cool (OK, I’m a geek), and I often wondered when that day might come. Seems it’s almost upon us, and this article from our colleagues at Datamation.com examines exactly how companies like Google and Apple plan to get us mere humans to adapt to a brave new — and more talkative — world.

In the future, we’ll talk to our computers, and they’ll talk back. We’ll speak regular English, and they’ll figure out what we want and try to give it to us. I know this is true because I saw it on Star Trek.

This future is coming sooner than you think — you could be talking to your various devices every day as soon as this year. The technology is ready. The biggest barrier to widespread voice command is not the computer, but the user.
