ViewSonic Corporation announced the launch of its Tablet PC V1100. According to the company, its Tablet PC V1100 combines all the features of a mobile PC with pen-activated screen and digital inking to enhance wireless computing, making it possible for information workers to bring the power of their business PC into more places than ever before.

The V1100’s ergonomic “slate” is designed to support the user’s grip and handwriting, allowing mobile professionals to take, convert, organize and e-mail notes, whether they are sitting at their desks or on the road. The added convenience of speech and keyboard input, coupled with the mobility of traditional desktop applications, may help users facilitate key business activities such as managing tasks and accessing data from remote locations.

The Tablet PC V1100 features the latest Ultra Low Voltage Mobile Intel Pentium III Processor – M at 866 MHz, along with 256MB RAM, 20GB hard drive and a 56Kbps modem. It features a full color 10.4-inch display and up to a three-hour battery life, but weighs 3 pounds and is less than one inch thick. The design features an embedded 802.11b wireless solution. An optional dock adds one-touch access to common USB peripherals, local area networks, and includes an integrated CD-ROM. Accessories include an extended battery, battery charger, USB keyboard and handgrips for added protection.

The ViewSonic Tablet PC V1100 is currently available through authorized resellers, retailers and catalogers at an estimated street price of $1995. The Tablet PC V1100 is backed by a one-year limited warranty on parts, labor and backlight. An optional extended warranty is also available. ViewSonic offers toll-free technical support seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
