Irvine, CA-based Toshiba Computer Systems Group has announced a series of new digital portable projectors that feature 802.11b-based wireless support and, on some models, a built-in document camera.

The company’s new wireless projectors consist of the base models TLP-T700U and TLP-T500U, both with integrated Wi-Fi support. They share most characteristics: each weighs 7.4 pounds and has a contrast ratio of 400:1, native XGA resolution (1024×768) and a maximum compressed SXGA resolution (1280×1024).

They differ in brightness and price: the T700U reaches 2000 Lumens and costs $6,295 while the T500U is only 1600 Lumens and costs $5,995.

The TLP- T701U ($7,495) and TLP-T501U ($7,194) are the same projectors, but have an integrated nine pound document camera for displaying photos, fine print text, and even 3D objects to enhance presentations.

Toshiba CSG also offers a set of projectors without the wireless connectivity. The TLP-T400U/T401U Series also feature the document camera if needed. They are priced at $5,079 and $6,195 respectively.
