Samsung recently touted its latest 3-in-1 TFT monitors, 4-in-1 optical disc drive and affordable laser printers, which the company is targeting towards small businesses and tech buffs.
The 3-in-1 15″ SyncMaster 150MP ($599 street price) and 17″ SyncMaster 170MP ($899) are flat-panel computer monitors that are also stand-alone TVs and video displays for use with a VCR, DVD player, camcorder or other video devices. The MPs promise to be complete audio/video multimedia devices that feature a Picture-in-Picture (PIP) function that lets users watch two input sources at the same time. For example, users may be able to compose a letter while watching a favorite TV program.
Samsung’s SM-332 ($129) is a high-speed drive that features both DVD Reading and 32X CD Recording. The drive offers 32X CD Recording, 10X CD Rewriting and industry-leading 40X CD-ROM Reading and 12X DVD-ROM Reading.
Samsung’s ML-1430 ($199) laser printer is designed to offer many of the features and benefits of more expensive laser printers including a 15-page-per-minute output rate, 600 dpi resolution and 8MB of memory. With a 12,000-page monthly duty cycle, the printer incorporates Samsung’s Toner Save Button, which, according to the company, may reduce toner consumption by up to 40%. The ML-1430 supports Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems, and offers built-in USB and parallel ports.
The new 17″ SyncMaster 171v may be ideal display for home, SOHO and business users who desire technology at the most affordable cost. The SyncMaster 171v (only $649 after mail-in rebate) offers a 1280 x 1024 resolution, 350:1 contrast ratio and a 150/1250 viewing angle. With its slim design and built-in power adaptor, the SyncMaster 171v may eliminate the need for a bulky power brick, which can save on desktop space.
