First Look: Gateway’s New Small Business Server

Gateway, Inc. (NYSE: GTW) announced a new configuration of its Gateway 930 Series server line — the Gateway 930X server. According to the company, the 930X server is designed for growing small businesses and workgroups with high performance requirements and extensive available storage. The system is available for $5,999.

Gateway says that its 930X server includes all the high-end features that ensure great performance and reliability. The 930X includes dual Intel Pentium III 1.4-GHz processors based on 0.13-micron technology with 512KB of high performance L2 cache for unsurpassed performance. The 930X also includes 1GB PC 133 Error Correction Code SDRAM, dual channel RAID controller with 64MB cache and dual hot-swap 350-watt power supplies. For storage, the 930X includes three 36GB SCSI hard drives and a DDS-4 20/40GB SCSI tape backup solution.

The Gateway 930X ships with Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with five client licenses and 30 days of operating system support from Gateway. The 930X is covered by a three-year parts & labor limited warranty with three-year onsite service(4) and next business day/lifetime hardware tech support for the life of the system.
