According to Gateway, its new Gateway E-Series desktop computers for business users will offer expandable, easy-to-manage, network-optimized PCs that can lower the total cost of ownership with long lifecycles and a solid price and performance balance. The new computers also boast an attractive new graphite and platinum design.

The computers use Intel 845G, 845GL or 850E chipsets, which combine Pentium 4 processors with graphics support.

The new line of Gateway E-Series desktop PCs includes:

The E-2000 desktop PC, priced starting at $849, which may be ideal for running standard networked applications, word processing and Internet access.

The E-4000 desktop PC, priced starting at $1,049, which is designed for office applications, demos and training, multi-tasking, and running high demand software.

The E-6000, priced starting at $1,399, which is designed to provide the bandwidth and performance for technical computing and applications including e-business, desktop publishing and multimedia, streaming audio and video, and financial modeling.

Gateway’s E-Series computers incorporate manageability and security features that should make them easy to maintain. Intel’s LANDesk Client Manager and built-in sensors are designed to continually monitor the vital functions and alert staff of potential problems before downtime occurs. The Wake-On-LAN technology powers on computers via a network server, helping IT staff to perform routine maintenance during non-working hours. The E-Series computers also feature remote system alerting capabilities that should alerts IT staff to changes in system settings.

The systems may be opened via a tool-less entry for quick and easy servicing. The new plastic and metal casing is more than double the thickness of standard PC designs, which may create a stronger and more durable system.

Complementing the E-Series product line, Gateway offers business customers turnkey support programs and customizable services such as training, network installation and support that are available through the company’s Gateway stores, online at Gateway.com and through its network of service providers.

More information about Gateway’s products and services is available by calling 800-846-2106, via the company’s Web site at www.gateway.com or at one of the Gateway stores nationwide.
