BenQ (formerly Acer Communications and Multimedia) announced the latest addition to its LCD display lineup, the Professional Series FP882 flat panel features a wide viewable angle and a large 18.1-inch screen size.

The ergonomic LCD monitor is designed to integrate futuristic design with user-friendly functions. The FP882 is designed to offer high contrast for photo realistic images with increased crispness and vividness. It accepts both analog and DVI, supports 16.7 million colors and is equipped with integrated speakers.

Another key feature of the FP882 is BenQ’s iKey, which is designed to automatically calibrate the input signal and adjust the monitor for an optimum display image. The iKey accomplishes this by adjusting display resolution, scanning frequency, H-position, V-position, and color temperature whenever the display mode is changed.

Rivaling traditional 19-inch CRT monitors, the FP882 displays an edge-to-edge 18.1-inch viewable area and 1.3 megapixel native resolution (1280 x 1024). In addition, the FP882 is black in color and offers 160-degree viewing angles (both horizontal and vertical) for optimum usability-for a suggested MSRP of $999. The product will be available at retail in May.
