PCmag@Work (Small Business): Vidyo Offers Touchscreen Video Conferencing Solution

The new product from Vidyo allows it to keep pace with enterprise-class competitor Tandberg, which introduced a similar product earlier this year – which costs about ten times the $1,000 price of the Vidyo offering.

“Vidyo, a provider of videoconferencing solutions, today announced the new VidyoDesktop Executive software, which delivers speedy video conferencing in a touch-screen form factor. It offers full 1080p HD video and was nominated for a Best of Interop Award in the Collaboration category at the upcoming Interop show in Las Vegas later this April.

Competing video conferencing company Tandberg recently announced a similar executive desktop solution with its new EX90 touch-screen videoconferencing product for $10,000. In comparison, VidyoDesktop Executive sells for under $1,000 and operates on Intel architecture, which Vidyo representatives claim can now equal and even surpass the performance of special purpose hardware appliances at lower costs.”
