PCmag@Work (Small Business): Synology Unveils new Expandable NAS for SMBs

An addition to the company’s earlier announced five-bay NAS appliance, this one for SMBs with lower but growing storage requirements.

“Joining last month’s announcement of a high-speed 5-bay NAS, this month Synology America announced the DiskStation DS710+, a 2-bay model with similar disk speeds (102+MB/s write, 113+ Mb/s reads). However, the DS710+ can go from 2 bays and scale up to 7 by using the 50bay DX510 expansion enclosure. With each drive at a max 2 Gigabytes, that means a total of 14GB possible. Each DS710+ has a Gigabit Ethernet port, 3 USB ports, and 1 GB of dedicated memory. Without drives the DS710+ sells for $534.45 on Amazon.com.” [End]
