ZDNet: Second Look – Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Convertible Tablet
Priced from just under $1,500, this model comes with two multitouch screen options. Competes well with its main competitor, an HP model, but looks clunkier.
“In previous posts, I took a second look at convertible tablet PCs and tested out one of HP’s latest entries in this category, the EliteBook 2740p. Here’s my take on a competing convertible, Lenovo’s ThinkPad X201 Tablet.
The ThinkPad X201T starts at $1,499 (the “sale price” on Lenovo’s site) with a 12.1-inch WXGA display with digitizer, 1.06GHz Core i5-520UM dual-core processor, 2GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive. The configuration I tested included a multi-touch display, faster processor (the 2.13GHz Core i7-640LM), 4GB of memory a 320GB hard drive and a larger battery, bringing the price to slightly more than $2,000. Like the 2740p, the ThinkPad X201T has two multi-touch options, a standard WXGA display that is a $200 upgrade and a “SuperBright” outdoor WXGA, which is a $325 option.”
