Review: HP Omni 100 All-In-One PC

PCWorld: Review – HP Omni 100 All-In-One PC

PC World gives the HP Omni 100 all-in-one PC 2.5 stars out of 5. While it’s inexpensive (under $600) it ranked at the bottom on performance for this class of product. All-in-one models from Acer and Lenovo offer better value, the reviewer says.

“HP’s 20-inch Omni 100 all-in-one desktop sports an extremely low asking price for an all-in-one of this size ($559, as of 1/18/2010), but we’re still hard pressed to recommend its admittedly lackluster combination of features, for all but the most dedicated of bargain-shoppers.

Although its AMD Athlon II X2 250u processor is a 1.6-GHz, dual-core CPU, that does little to assist HP’s 20-inch all-in-one in its attempt to climb over the very bottom rung of our all-in-one desktop charts. Its score of 70 on our WorldBench 6 series of tests — nearly tied with the 68 put forth by Lenovo’s IdeaCentre C315 — sits at the very bottom of our performance rankings. For a higher-performance AIO desktop, we’d much rather cough up the extra $200 and pick up Gateway’s ZX4300-01e (97 in WorldBench).”
