PCmag@Work (Small Business): Preview – Apple Mac Mini Server

It comes with 4 GB of memory, a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and two 500 GB SATA hard drives. It also comes with unlimited client licenses. Apple claims the Mac Mini Server can be up and running in 10 minutes.

“Apple’s latest small business server offering, officially called the Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server, went on sale today along with the consumer version of the Mac Mini. The sleek and compact desktop server weighs in at 3 pounds and comes preinstalled with Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server.

The Mac mini server boasts the same design as the consumer model, with a few specific differences that make it a server offering: 4 GB of memory (with support up to 8 GB); a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and two 500 GB 7200-RPM SATA drives. The upgraded HDD capacity and memory were in response to customer feedback on the previous Mac mini server.”
