The value-oriented SRX5308 ProSafe SSL VPN Firewall supports Ipsec and SSL VPN tunnels for SMBs and branch offices at $0.50 per Mbps.

“Netgear introduced the SRX5308 ProSafe SSL VPN Firewall today. The vendors claims that the flagship model of its ProSafe VPN Firewall family is the first business firewall providing 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) performance under the $500 price point. The unit includes four Gigabit WAN ports, session-based load balancing, allows remote users to access centralized data using IPsec or SSL, and supports up to 125 IPsec and 50 SSL simultaneous VPN tunnels.

To meet the growing demand it foresees for connection speed and reliable security from SMBs and remote office locations driven by shift to cloud computing and virtualziation, Netgear is positioning the new VPN firewall as a business-ready value offering. The vendor notes that the low price point equates to $0.50 per Mbps.
