PCmag@Work (Small Business): MindTouch Cloud Storage Supported by Fujitsu Doc Scanner

For SMBs that still need to scan paper docs: MindTouch gives subscribers the Fujitsu scanner for free and it’s set up to automatically upload scans to your searchable and shareable online MindTouch repository.

“We gave the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 scanner four stars last year in a review. So stands to reason we might like the new S1300. Last month we told you about MindTouch taking its business collaboration systems online to the cloud where it hopes to take on Microsoft Sharepoint. Now the two have joined forces. Within the next week or so, MindTouch will start giving away a ScanSnap S1300 with people buy a license to use their software as a service (Saas). The scanner would usually sell for $295.

Why would you want the scanner? It’s preset to support MindTouch, so everything you scan is instantly placed in the cloud-based searchable repository of all your documents. The company says small legal firms are already loving it; likely that would follow for any paper-heavy offices, even healthcare and insurance.”
