PCmag@Work (Small Business): Microsoft to Begin Charging for Azure Cloud Service

“Microsoft will begin charging for its Windows Azure cloud service today, according to InformationWeek, after a month-long free public beta that let prospective customers get a feel for the service and an idea of what the charges would be.

Microsoft is offering two basic pricing models: a “consumption” option that lets users pay for the exact amount of resources consumed, and a “commitment” option that offers discounts in six-month-long contracts.”
