In the not-so-recent past, if you wanted to use your own computer or, heaven forbid, your new iPhone as a work tool, you had to do it on the sly and hope your boss or the IT squad didn’t catch wind of it. The iPhone did a lot to change that, and the iPad appears to be the beneficiary as a recent study shows that more people are bringing their iPads to work. And what’s more, work seems willing to support the mobile devices.
According to the survey, this reversal in IT attitude has a lot to do with the fact that CEOs and sales execs want their iPads…and you know when the moneymakers want something, it tends to happen. Datamation has the full story on the Citrix survey.
As Apple’s iPad celebrates its two month anniversary, the hot new tablet has gone on sale in the U.K., Canada, Japan and elsewhere, causing long lines in many locations reminiscent of the U.S. launch. However, it’s not just consumers who have their eyes on the tablet. An early survey by Citrix Systems indicates there’s strong interest in the device from business customers.
Citrix (NASDAQ: CTXS) is collecting survey entries through May 31, but in a preliminary tally of 494 respondents, 80 percent said they will purchase and use the iPad for business.
