NETGEAR announced its new NETGEAR Platinum Family of networking solutions with the availability of the NETGEAR 4-Port Cable/DSL Web Safe Router (RP614) and the NETGEAR 5-port and 8-port Fast Ethernet Switches (FS605 and FS608).

According to the company, these first members of the new NETGEAR Platinum Family will make it easier for anyone to set-up a network and come in a stylish new platinum color design that looks good in any room or office. The entire NETGEAR Platinum Family will soon expand with the release of residential gateway, powerline, and wireless networking solutions.

The NETGEAR 4-Port Cable/DSL Web Safe Router with 10/100 Mbps Switch (RP614) is designed to offer customers a user-friendly experience by making set-up and installation a snap. NETGEAR’s Smart Setup Wizard should automatically detect the ISP connection type, and depending on the ISP, may be plug and play with no configuration required.

NETGEAR’s Installation Assistant is available to guide customers through each step of installation with NETGEAR On Screen Help throughout the process. Meanwhile, NETGEAR’s Web Safe features deliver security by providing content filtering and parental control capabilities, and offering Network Address Translation (NAT) firewall protection against hackers along with privacy protection software.

NETGEAR’s 5-port and 8-Port Fast Ethernet Switches (FS605 and FS608) are designed for easy set-up, and are built without an internal fan to keep the noise level down. The switches, as with the entire Platinum Family, are stackable or can be placed upright in the stand provided, fitting with the other members of the NETGEAR Platinum Family while providing efficient use of space.
