Constant Contact Adds Social CRM to Its Online Marketing Menu

Integrating social media marketing is the number one email marketing trend in 2011, and it’s likely that we’ll see major marketing companies folding various forms of social marketing into their product lines. Case in point is Constant Contact, a leading email and online marketing company that’s adding social CRM to its repertoire through the time-honored practice of acquisition.

Email and online marketing firm Constant Contact (NASDAQ: CTCT) is adding social CRM to its product lineup with the acquisition of Bantam Live for $15 million.

Constant Contact hopes to transform itself from one-way marketing to “engagement marketing” through the addition of Bantam Live’s contact management and social CRM technology. Bantam Live’s social CRM platform is built on the Ruby on Rails web development framework.
