Seagate’s GoFlex Home Network Attached Storage System

Data storage, backup and security are issues that every business must deal with, and sorting it all out is hard enough for companies with an IT staff. For a sole proprietor or a small company with just a few people, it can be downright discouraging.

Enter Seagate’s GoFlex Home. This storage system is about as simple as networked storage gets, and yet provides micro businesses with a hefty chunk of data capacity, data backup capability and wireless file sharing. Our sister site HardwareCentral.com has the full review.

As sure as the sun sets in the west, when your household grows beyond a single computing device, you’re going to want a wireless network to tie them together. Not necessarily — if you hang a hard drive with a terabyte or two of storage from your home network.

Network attached storage. The very term sounds daunting. And in the past, it has been. But storage sultan Seagate has made the process astonishingly simple with its FreeAgent GoFlex Home network storage system ($160 for 1TB or $230 for 2TB), which wirelessly backs up files and folders from up to three PC or Mac computers. Not only is the system a snap to set up, but it’s easy to maintain.
