It bills itself as a business networking site that provides a mix of social networking, e-commerce, and comprehensive business listings. The name is http://www.7MainStreet.com and its beta test is now live.

The goal, explained CEO Andy Leff, is to give companies, big and small, one place to build an e-commerce operation.

With companies such as eBay, Amazon.com, Linkedin.com, Google, Yahoo and MSN providing similar services such as storefront listings, directories, and social networking features, 7MainStreet.com is facing tough competition amid tough times. But Leff claims the site has a unique offering.

Instead of focusing on social interaction, the tools target business interaction for connecting with partners, vendors and customers.

“Businesses, especially smaller ones, have a lot on their plate trying to stay successful in this economy and running an e-commerce operation can be time consuming and revenue draining,” said Leff. “We solve those issues,” he claimed, and for less than bigger providers charge.

So far, the site claims a directory with 16 million business listings and about 2,100 storefronts.
