PayPal Plugs Its iPhone App's Security Hole

The trend to use mobile devices to make payments is on the rise, and you can bet that security issues will be of paramount concern to consumers and business owners both. Case in point is PayPal, which recently faced a security threat in the app it developed for iPhone users.

Fortunately the scope of the threat was limited to the iPhone and didn’t include Android-based phones or the PayPal website, and the company has repaired the problem. Our sister site, eSecurityPlanet.com has the details.



Internet payment provider PayPal this week raced out a fix for a security vulnerability in its iPhone application that could have potentially tricked users logging in through an unsecured Wi-Fi connection into sharing their passwords and account information.
