Celestix Networks introduced its Celestix Orion Security Appliance for small businesses, home/branch offices, telecommuters, and consumers. The Orion is pre-licensed with security software developed by SofaWare Technologies and based on Check Point Software Technologies’ VPN-1R/FireWall-1R software. The Celestix Orion promises world-class security and extraordinary ease-of-use at a breakthrough price point.

According to the company, non-technical users can have their entire network secured by a robust VPN and firewall controlled by an intuitive Web interface. Orion is designed to protect the privacy of personal data, supports e-mail anti-virus capabilities, and ensures the integrity of the PC. Objectionable content can be filtered, viruses blocked, and optional parental controls enabled to ensure that the Internet is a safer environment for children.

According to the company, product highlights include:

7 The Celestix Orion with pre-licensed Check Point Safe@Home software is priced at $299 and protects up to 5 nodes.

7 The Orion with Safe@Home Pro is priced at $399, which should help telecommuters or home office workers to connect to a corporate VPN, and protects up to 5 nodes.

7 The Orion with Safe@Office is priced at $599-$1199, provides site-to-site and remote access VPN connectivity for small businesses and branch offices, and protects 10 or 25 nodes.
