Kurant Corporation unveiled the next generation of StoreSense, the company’s e-business software suite. Kurant’s new StoreSense 5.0 offers a set of powerful, easy-to-use tools that promise to extend the opportunity of e-business to more small and medium-sized businesses than ever before.

StoreSense is designed to offer small businesses a full range of site-building and e-commerce functionality, beginning with catalog, shopping cart and real-time transaction processing and extending to high-end inventory management and sophisticated supply chain communication. The product integrates with QuickBooks Pro 2002 and QuickBooks Premier 2002, which may allow for seamless, two-way transfer of critical business data between a merchant’s online store and his or her desktop financial system.

While small and medium-sized retailers have been the primary targets for online commerce, the company says that StoreSense 5.0 now offers features that extend e-business to previously untapped segments of the small business market. StoreSense 5.0 is designed to assist even the most novice users in building an effective online business.

Key features include:
Intuitive Site Builder – easy-to-use site building tool that requires no knowledge of HTML, allowing new users to get up and running quickly and easily.

Recurring Billing – enables service-based businesses, which need the ability to charge automatically at set intervals, to sell online.

New Interface & Navigation – a friendly new interface with Basic and Advanced navigation, allowing users to customize views of the Store Administration area according to their needs.

Task Wizards – a library of context-sensitive wizards that guide the merchant through the setup process and assist with daily business tasks

Support for PayPal – gives merchants a simple, straightforward means to accept payments online without investing in an Internet merchant account

Kurant markets StoreSense to small and medium-sized businesses through a series of partnerships with large corporations, including banks, financial service providers and other professional service companies. Some of Kurant’s existing partners include First Data Merchant Services, a subsidiary of First Data Corp; Homestead Technologies; Paymentech; S1 Corporation; Smart Online; and Website Pros.
