Amplify.net announced the availability of a line of Multi-Homed WAN Gateways for small to mid-sized enterprises (SMEs).

According to the company, its iSurfJanus Product Family integrates advanced WAN backup and dynamic load balancing functions with firewall and VPN plus other critical WAN gateway features. It may enable businesses to optimize recurring monthly WAN line cost by combining inexpensive high-speed broadband connections with traditional Frame Relay or T1 lines, while balancing inbound and outbound traffic even when multiple ISPs are deployed.

With an entry price starting at $995 in North America, the iSurfJanus is a family of high performance but simple WAN gateways that may provide WAN redundancy and cost effective bandwidth expansion, ideally suited for branch/remote offices and headquarters of SMEs. It is also designed to be affordable, easy to install and 100% interoperable with existing network infrastructure.

Range of Products to Suit Varying Network Design Requirements
Tailored to meet the needs of varying network topologies and configuration requirements, iSurfJanus offers eight (8) models within three (3) product categories:

  • SurfJanus CX (“CX”) – the iSurfJanus CX models support two (2) public and private WAN lines of different access technologies, with 10 Mbps downstream and 4 Mbps upstream throughput. VPN and firewall functions are optional. The CX may be suited for small branch or remote offices.
  • iSurfJanus DX (“DX”) – Specifications for the DX models are similar to those of the CX with the exception of throughput. Supporting a total throughput of 60 Mbps (30 down & 30 up), the DX is designed for medium-sized branch offices with very high speed WAN connections.
  • iSurfJanus RX (“RX”) – Distinct from the CX and DX, iSurfJanus RX supports three (3) 100 Mbps WAN ports and is packaged in a high performance 19″ rack-mount enclosure. The RX models may deliver a total of 100 Mbps (50 down & 50 up) throughput, both downstream and upstream. For an additional measure of reliability, the RX offers a self-failure bypass option. The RX may be suited as a Multi-WAN gateway at large branch offices and at the headquarters of small and mid-sized companies.

All CX and RX Models are available for shipment immediately. The DX Models will be available in early November. For more information, please visit the company’s Web site at www.amplifynet.com.
