A new networked video surveillance system from Iomega, maker of network storage gear, and Axis, manufacturer of video surveillance equipment, promises better quality and cost effectiveness for small businesses than other available products, the companies say.
"Iomega has announced a new partnership with Axis Communications to integrate StorCenter network storage products with the AXIS Video Hosting System (AVHS). The first Iomega StorCenter devices with an integrated AVHS client are already shipping.
The integrated solution stores video files locally at HDTV or megapixel resolution, while streaming the surveillance video data to a secure, off-site storage facility. It works using Iomega storage devices and Axis network cameras and encoders."
