Setting Small Business IT Priorities

Paul Mah's suggestions for where SMBs should be expending their IT effort to ensure they're making optimal use of the latest technology include reviewing backup processes, reviewing security precautions, figuring out how to exploit the cloud and developing an up-to-date business continuity plan.

"The constantly evolving technological landscape means that previous impractical solutions could become viable over time, while iron-clad "best practices" tend to lose their relevance. To help SMBs better examine how new developments and products are changing the shape of IT implementations, I drew up a list of topics that I feel best address the various facades of tech, ranging from deploying Wi-Fi to ensuring business continuity.

I have packaged the pertinent topics as projects that SMBs can adopt, and will explore one project weekly over the next eight weeks. I highlight a summary of the various projects below."
