There are a lot of problems with today's browsers that need fixing, Dvorak says. Will the competition sparked by the release of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 9 push developers to fix them?
"Cue the new browser war. Maybe it will help fix all of the annoying problems and sloppiness you encounter when using browsers.
Microsoft is back into the browser war game. Its first war was against Netscape, which Microsoft won. Netscape folks pulled a fast one on Microsoft by putting its code into an open source project, which became Mozilla, which became Firefox. Firefox became the dominant choice and war number two was underway."
