Details on the new plans haven't been released yet, but the rate for a month of unlimited calling to the U.S. and Canada for U.S. customers will drop from $2.95 to $1.09 a month.
"Skype this week will start offering plans to let users call international wireline and wireless phones at significantly lower rates than its current pay-as-you-go services.
Starting on Thursday, Skype will offer subscriptions that start as low as $1.09 per month and that offer rates starting at $.01 per minute when dialing to 'almost any destination around the globe.'"
