Acer America Corporation announced the addition of the TravelMate 630 series to its line of TravelMate notebooks. According to the company, its TravelMate 630 offers exceptional performance by incorporating the newest Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M.
The lightweight TravelMate 630 features the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M at speeds up to 1.70 GHZ and 256 MG of DDR memory upgradeable to 1024 MB. In addition, the Travelmate 630 includes an NVidia Gforce 2Go controller with 16 MB of dedicated video RAM and either a 14"or 15" SXGA+ TFT display. The company claims that the notebook provides up to 4.5 hours of battery life and weighs less than 6 pounds.
Addressing security concerns, the TravelMate 630 incorporates a smart card reader and is bundled with the Smart Card-based PlatinumSecret software suite to protect against unauthorized access to the system and enable secure e-commerce and banking transactions. In addition, Acer's Disk Anti-Shock protection (DASP) system is designed to protect the hard disk drive and data from damage due to accidental drops and vibrations.
The TravelMate 630 comes preloaded with Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Windows XP Home or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition.
All Acer TravelMate notebooks have a standard one year parts and labor warranty, including Acer's one year International Traveler Warranty. Additionally, all notebooks are backed by Acer's toll free service and support call center.
The Acer TravelMate 630 series will be available through Acer authorized resellers throughout North America starting at $1499.
