Gateway, Inc. (NYSE: GTW) introduced two new, low cost desktop systems. At $599, the Gateway 300SE is a value system for first-time buyers or families interested in adding a second PC to their home. Gateway also announced its $999 500SE that comes with a 1.6 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 15″ (viewable) LCD flat panel display, and CD-Rewritable drive.
The $599 Gateway 300SE comes with a 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron processor, 128 MB of memory, a 20GB hard drive, a 15″ monitor (13.8″ viewable), a 16X CD-RW, a one-year America Online subscription (2), a one-year limited warranty, and 10/100 Ethernet card.
For less than $1,000, the Gateway 500SE is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor and features a 15″ (viewable) LCD flat panel display, a 32 MB NVIDIA GeForce2 MX200 AGP graphics card, 20 GB hard drive, 16X CD-RW, speakers, a one-year America Online subscription and more.
The Gateway 700XL, at $2,999, features a 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, an 18.1″ (viewable) LDC flat panel display powered by the 64MB ATI RADEON 8500 AGP Graphics Accelerator, a 120GB hard drive, and more than 1GB of memory.
