GoldMine Gets Relative with QuickBooks

By SmallBusinessComputing.com Staff | Posted March 19, 2004

The latest version of GoldMine Plus Accounting hit the market this week. The popular small business contact management system now works with QuickBooks 2.0 to integrate accounting data directly into the program, which now provides a single, unified record for all customer transactions.

Designed for business professionals who require a complete customer profile — but are currently using separate, unrelated or out of sync systems to access sales, accounting and operational data — GoldMine Plus Accounting for use with QuickBooks 2.0 puts customer contact and financial information in one spot, eliminating the need to launch a separate session with QuickBooks.

Users can create estimates and invoices that are linked to sales information in GoldMine and avoid having to make duplicate entries of financial data in order to share customer information between the two programs.

Enhancements to the new release include a redesigned user interface, improved purchase order and sales order processes, customizable XML output for a variety of report-building needs, and auto-run synchronization, which means that there are no additional systems required for QuickBooks to run at the same time as GoldMine.

ANI Direct specializes in deploying network security solutions for businesses both large and small. The company uses customer information and business intelligence systems to complement its use of GoldMine's sales and accounting programs.

Steve Duncan, ANI Direct vice president of sales for, said the company is a big advocate of GoldMine.

"It keeps our sales team extremely organized and in front of our customers, letting us know renewals are due," Duncan said. "Its SQL backend (define) is extremely fast, allowing for robust reporting features that enable us to provide reports for vendors in seconds."

Duncan credits the improved performance of FrontRange Software's new GoldMine Plus Accounting solution with making it possible for ANI Direct to continually build on its success in the market. This includes serving organizations as diverse as The Ritz Carlton and Columbus Municipal School District, among other companies in different industries such as financial services, government agencies and the health care sector.
